Nakayama Yuzuki, who was selected as a finalist in the Miss Aoyama Contest 2013, was involved in the development of Japanese sweets together with Miss Campus contestants from other universities. In the process of turning her idea into reality, Nakayama realized that the "ordinary" things that female university students take for granted could be valuable information for society, and she became involved in the launch of Toppan Printing's new business, Campus Lab. Nakayama then joined Toppan Printing, and is now in charge of producing Campus Lab as an employee of the company. She is working from a young woman's perspective to solve the issues faced by companies and local governments, such as "I don't understand the feelings of young people" and "I want to know how to gain sympathy from women."

After realizing his dream of studying abroad, Kimura Sotaro began job hunting after returning to Japan. He returned to Japan in August, which made him a late start compared to students who were already job hunting. Kimura, who started his job hunting around October, faced difficulties in the selection process for the internship he applied for, and was then forced to fight anxiety and pressure as the final selection process was postponed due to the impact of COVID-19 countermeasures. Despite facing negative factors, Kimura changed his mindset and turned the situation into a positive one. We will explore the "certain thought" that led Kimura to change his mindset and turn the situation into a positive one.

Momo Fuehta, who says she loves writing, joined the "Newspaper Editorial Board" upon entering the school. She was involved in the entire process of creating the Aoyama Gakuin University newspaper, including planning, layout, interviewing, and manuscript preparation. The themes covered were diverse, so I was able to naturally work on themes that I had not paid particular attention to, which was great for broadening my perspective and gaining various experiences. In my job search, I think my communication skills and experience in managing the newspaper production schedule, which I developed through my work on the newspaper editorial board, were highly valued, and may have led to my job offer.

Ryoto Iizuka, chairman of the Aoyama Festival Executive Committee, the group that plans and manages the Aoyama Festival held on Aoyama Campus, held Aoyama festival online for the first time in the university's history in 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic was on the rise. Although they had the option of waiting for the situation to settle down, they explored options with the members and created an Aoyama Festival like no other. Iizuka says, "While many school festivals were scaled down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were able to maintain the same number of events as before thanks to the early decision to hold the festival online and the motivation of each member who maintained their role."

Department of Psychology places emphasis on learning concrete wisdom and practical skills that are useful to the world. In Associate Professor Shigemasu Eri's seminar on the theme of communication, students engage in lively discussions among themselves. They are also interested in the research of other students and eager to broaden their horizons. We asked Shigemasu about the research in his seminar, what he keeps in mind when guiding students, and what he wants his students to learn through research. We also asked Yanagio Mio, who served as the seminar representative in 2019, about his motivation for choosing Shigemasu's seminar and the fun of learning in the seminar.

At School of Global Studies and Collaboration, students are learning from a wide range of specialized fields, including business and media, with a "symbiotic" mindset that encourages them to learn, work, and create together with people from around the world. Professor Takuya Hayashi's seminar incorporates spatial analysis methods from spatial information studies to conduct research on tourism. In 2020, face-to-face interactive research was almost impossible due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so students read specialist books online and held discussions based on new publications. Professor Hayashi says he felt that discussions were more lively than in person, perhaps because it was easier for students to express their opinions.
